Best of luck to 'em, I say. It's great to see a new sim join the crowd.
I hope we'll see some friendly competition among all of the sims out
there, like:
- Racer (www.racer.nl)
- NetKar (Broken links on my end, gotta check the forums at RSC)
- Sirocco (www.siroccoracing.com)
- TRally (http://www.hszk.bme.hu/~s8554dea/)
- Tomasz Pyra's project (Broken link on my end)
Personally, I've gotten more enjoyment out of Racer (yup, still on my
drive since .5 was released) than all of the others even though NetKar
had a better feeling of driving. And for the record, that damned
"up-in-the-air-spinning-for-eternity" thing really chaffs my ass. Once
you find that perfect car to drive at Indy (hint: 1999 BMW V12 LMR
Beck's), though, it's pure bliss....it's just a shame that turns 3-4 are
seriously broken. But, all in all, I can't wait to see what Ruud has
planned for the next iteration.
I still want to know when someone is going to model stock cars for
Racer. :P *laughs*
Commercial simming, I'm having a blast with the PWF mods (Kudos to them)
for NR2003. I think IROC racing is a total blast. I find it's much
easier to bump-draft in those cars. But stay away from those high-speed
bumps. You can actually get the back wheels, of the front car, off the
ground. :)
