Guys - odd controller problem - or.....

Guys;

I have a MS Sidewinder Precision Wheel that's about 2 years old.  The
pedals have been cleaned with pot cleaner (as best I can) 3x now.  One of
the throttle return springs is out of it as well.

It seems to calibrate in N2002 and GPL ok (as far as I can tell) - but
lately racing Daytona or Tally with N2002 I get absolutely blown away on
the starts, and can barely keep with the draft, let alone make a pass.

There doesn't seem to be any major spiking going on, but there is a little
blip noticeable at the bottom end.

This has been going on for a few weeks now.  However - I seem to be about
as fast on the shorter tracks and in GPL (I took the new Honda out
yesterday for a sub :30 at Monza).

Could something be wrong with the pedals?  Should I clean them again?  Time
for a new MOMO?  Or is it me?

Opinions welcome plz.

New pots will cure the prob.

Thanks Achim;

hmm, ok - have to see if I can find a set - and get the spring fixed.

Seems odd tho - the replay in N2002 shows the throttle full open.  I know
there's a problem tho as in the draft with the "fast" setup, the rev light
usually flashes 3/4 of the way down the str8.  Now in the draft, it seems
lucky to get it flashing at all.

Seems also tho that on short tracks the effect is less - cuz I seem to be
able to keep up at those (although maybe it's better corner speeds that do
that).

Was hoping that someone would encourage me to spring for the MOMO tho :+)

you can always jump for the MOMO <g> but I am convinced a new set of pots
will cure the prob reliably. Sorry to bring bad news ;-)

I agree, even a small spike while calibrating will cure the problems.
But hey, I think you need to be told to get a new Momo... :D
