Hi Craig,
I have had the same problem a while ago. After trying every possible
thing in software I replaced the voodoo card with one of my other pc's
(identical) voodoo card. That solved it! Conclusion -> The speckles were
a result of hardware failure. I went back the store and they replaced it
for me.
Of course it's possible that your speckles are caused by something else,
but if you have the opportunity I suggest you try an other card. It
helps a lot if you're in the store to get it replaced and you can say
that you plugged in an other card and that it worked.
