This is a horrible run I'm having :( I had something like this at the
beginning of the NASCAR season and now I'm finishing every race (famous last
words). I think I've finally got a handle on setups and although not the
fastest at Interlagos I was running on rails and steady as a rock.

I made the mistake of trying to check up how far the third place car was
away and missed my turn-in point. End of suspension and race. This thing
really needs an F2 screen for us old farts with dodgy eyes ;)

Spud and Phasor were going like trains as usual - hope your race went OK.
See ya at Suzuka

Phasor too fell out leaving Eldred and me to fill up the podium behind
Spudster.  I was happier about actually finishing an event rather than
getting a disco.
Turn one was fun, The Toyota driver missed it and I took 4th, then the
Mclarren driver half spun at turn two(good save btw) and I was in third.
But by the middle of the lap the Mac had caught up so I moved over to make
room and whaddya know!  The Toyota was right there too..  Off they went,
then I think two of the leaders hit each other(was that you?)....leaving
spud in the lead and me and Eldred trying to stay pointed in the right
direction.
(one of my spins came late while checking the tire wear...)<the rest were
mostly near the end of the lap...that sharp lefty at the bottom of the
hill...was killing me.>
{still, I did get a pb in Qualifying with light tanks and almost matched
that near the final third of the race.}

Boy did I mess things up.  I know the track well and thought I wouldn't
spend much time practicing - big mistake.  I was way off the pace in Qual
and couldn't figure out why until later....

Thanks - should never have made that mistake in the first place tho!

Even though it worked out OK, I must apologize for that overly aggressive
move.  I was close-ish to your back and staggered my car going into the turn
just in case you braked early , not intending to pass, and I accidentaly
braked too late.

I was tootling around in 3rd and Spud blew by me on the straight like I was
standing still.  I then realized my gear ratios were off - DUHHH - hence
lousy qual.  Later on I also realized I was turning in way too early on some
important corners and losing exit speed.

Yeah, what happened there?  I was running 4th and was suddenly second.

After 13 laps my concentration lapsed for a moment and I lost both wings.
Went into the pits for repairs and got a BF for speeding.  I would have
carried on but I had a lot of other things to do this morning, decided to
park.

Congrats!  That's a tricky track to be consistent on.  Thanks for the race
guys - it would be nice to get more people out, great racing.

Too bad we lost you there, it might have been a close finish.

I`m really surprised that I didn`t spin once in the entire race... it`s the
first time! I swapped cars over to BAR cuz there was 3 of us McLarens. I
think I like the Bridgestones a lot better, and maybe the reason for my
spin-free race. I also had a good setup from my league race that I ran there
about 3 months ago, and all those laps payed off today.

Congrats to DH and EP on their podiums!

Looking forward to Suzuka next Week. Cya.

Is SA banned now?  I heard a little bit of talk about it just before I had
to leave, didn't hear the conclusion.  Also the thread we had about it
several weeks ago seemed inconclusive, some were for and some were against.
I assumed it was still legal and so practiced with it on low, took me a
while to adapt when we started up.  OTOH even without it I managed to get
within about a half second of my best, so must not have been that important.
I have already made my opinion of SA known, but I still would readily accept
allowing it if there are people who can't race without it.  Being that this
is a more-or-less friendly race though, I still think the faster guys ought
to have the courtesy to run without it.

I would have been there, but my WIN2000 has been developing
problems and last night started to CTD soon after starting F1C.

So, anybody have a setup for Suzuka?  Haqsau, your Brazil
setup is great.

Feh - everyone else dropped out.  I don't see that as anything that I should be
congratulated on.  I just got lucky that my many spins didn't result in contact
with anything...
As I said after the race - borrrring...  It's no fun driving around by
yourself.

Sorry - I meant to set 'no damage', but I forgot until we were in the middle of
qual...

Not sure when I will be able to work on one, but in the meantime try the
Brazil setup there.  The maximum speed appears to be about the same, so the
gearing and wing settings ought to be pretty close.

Yeah, that was me ;-) I was amazed how well the launch control went
off, and I was mucho fasto when trying to brake into T1.

I quit when the Jaguar in front of me went into the gravel and I had
to hug my daughter good-night. 1800 CET on a Sunday isn't too good a
time for me family wise 8-(

Cheers,

uwe

Not your fault Eldred - it was a driver***-up pure and simple. I deserved
to be punished and the only thing that irritated was that I was so stable
and resonably quick. Ahh well, I thought I'd join the series looking to get
some experience of EA sims before a league campaign next season. I'm
certainly getting all sorts of experience :))
