OT - News Servers?

by Chris Bloo » Sun, 23 Jan 2000 04:00:00

I am having a problem with my ISP.  Their server deletes messages from RAS
seemingly less than 24 hours after they have been posted.  This means that I
sometimes miss out on messages when I do not have chance to download
messages on a particular day.

I have e-mailed my ISP but they don't seem interested.  I was wondering if
there is such a thing as a free server or something which anyone is able to
connect to to read and send messages?  I know about Deja but would rather
work with my news reader.

Talkway.com is one way. Although they dont allow posting via a news
client, but via their webpage. Tried it a minute ago and it had 5000
posts in r.a.s.

I used to search for them via this list:

Don't know whether it's still online, but check it out!

I used to use tor-nn1.netcom.ca as it holds posts for almost a month.
No posting though, which is a pain.
