Since I've discovered the poor quality of my guillemot FF wheel (the paddle
shifters have failed on 2 wheels in just a couple of months) I've been
looking for a more high quality wheel. I now expect everyone to suggest
either ECCI or thomas super wheel... but ECCI simply is too expensive for me
and after reading the TSW website I discovered that the shipping for a TSW
to Sweden would cost $180, about 50% of the wheel I was considering! Then
add 25% swedish VAT on price AND shipping, just too much for me...
I then found this wheel Zykon f1 racer pro, which I could get in Sweden for
about $270 (including 25% VAT)
http://www.racesimcentral.net/
It seems like it's built much more like a TSW than any other wheel I've
seen. The website lists features like
- Genuine racing car steering wheel
- Padded hand stitched rim with polished aluminum center
- Precision engineered system
-Arcade technology
-Better control, long life precision Conductive Plastic potentiometers (more
reliable, more precise and longer life cycle)
-Hand built steel construction
-Adjustable, all steel F1 Race car Accelerator & Brake pedals
I seems very promising as far as I can telI. I noticed for example that the
potentiometers are the same type used in the most expensive tsw formula1
models. Unfortunately there is not much info about the wheel on the website
eg. if it got 3axis support or how many buttons it has. Also the pictures
doesn't really show what the paddle shifters look like or even it there are
any. Also the pedals looks really weird, I don't understand where you're
supposed to rest your feet. They mention that it has got very good reviews,
for example in pc gamer. But I haven't been able to find any reviews on the
web or any mention about it in newsgroups...
So I wonder if anyone have seen any reviews of this wheel, or even better,
have seen or tried it in real life? Any comments at all on this wheel?
