I asked about this a while back and I think the consensus was that the
Matrox was the only way to do it.  If I am wrong in this impression,
I'd love to hear about it.

I believe it is with just one PC.

However, it can be done with standard graphics cards in three PCs. The other
two can be fairly low spec.

Hope this helps

Tony...

Nice website...love your camera collection!

So, how do you run the same game across three monitors off three different
computers?

Triple headed video card I can kind of wrap my brain around, but the
multiple computer setup loses me...

Not mine - but where I was "inspired" :)

The main computer hosts a multiplayer game and the other two join it. Then
you just use the two you have joined to spectate the hosting computer with
cameras downloaded (from the website I gave before) at the perfect left &
right angles.

Works great but obviously is a bit more hassle loading a game across three
instances.

Not that I know of (single PC, 3 cards) and I'm quite on top of such a
thing.
Do note that the Parhelia is noticably slower than today's common gfx
cards. I'm switching to 3 PC support soon for Racer, as the Parhelia
solution is just too slow.

Is this a limitation of the OS, D3D or what?

Have you ever taken a look at the NADS site?  I have no idea what OS
or software or hardware they use, but they somehow send their virtual
driving world to an array of video projectors to form a life-size
360-degree surround display.

Could someone do that with N2003 and actually race online with that setup?

setup?

Yes, but that is three server connections gone. Which may prove
unpopular...

We just need someonne to write some clever code to relay the network
transmission from the N2003 server to the main PC only and out to the other
two PCs on the LAN for the side view cameras.

Cheers

Seems a limitation of the games themselves. Also, the bus is shared
among the PCI devices, so that doesn't make things any quicker
(sending the same scene to 3 cards sequentially, effectively). I don't
really think it'd be worth doing it like that either (because of the
performance limitations).

Hadn't seen it yet; cool stuff.

Not sure how they do it. I do know of at least one driving sim center
which does things using 4 PC's; 1 doing the physics, and 3 driving the
graphics (those are then projected neatly to make one big projection).
