I have found the only way is to take a track at a time - give it a few
days and practice constantly with one car. I slowly experiment with
all the settings until it suits me. THEN MAKE A COPY OF THE SETUP AND
SAVE IT. I find it too easy to tweak a setup and then realise I have
changed something to worse and not be able to get it back.
Personally, for my driving style, I like a hard setup, so I tweek up
the the wheel rate. bump and rebound and the Anti Roll bar from the
default and then run a few laps slowly to get the tyres to warm up and
then adjust things so that the I just don't loose the backend on a
corner. Once I have got to that point I am beginning to feel the car,
the differences with each setup and when I have done a good lap. I
then start playing with gear ratios etc to squeeze a bit more.
However, I have to say, that the biggest improvement in performance
came by getting to a point where I could do lap after lap at speed
without coming off. How much of that is due to setup I am not sure.
