Warn: Avoid Cat 3.5s (or is it me?)

Unless I'm a hopeless fuddy-duddy (don't go there...please), you don't want
ATI's Catalyst ver. 3.5 drivers if yer driving N2003.  N2003's graphics
detection pgm (config.exe) can't find the right DirectX info (altho it works
ok w. OpenGL - not my preferred renderer in N2003).  Almost as soon as ATI
released the 3.5 Cats, they released the 3.6 Cats, which fixed a lot of
probs w. popular games AND fixed the prob w. N2003.  So if you have a set of
earlier Cats, skip the 3.5s and go straight to the 3.6s (the 16.9-Mb d/l
includes a new ATI control panel).

3.5's are working without any problem at all for me on my 9700Pro.
From reading the ati newsgroup, 3.6 broke a hell of a lot more than it
fixed, so I wouldn't go near it personally.

Running 3.5 on 8500 here no problems.
Sounds like a bad install to me as the 3.6 had no fixes specific to NR2003.

Hmmmn.  You may be right.  The 3.5s worked perfectly w. GPL but not N2003.
The 3.6s work perfectly w. both.  Haven't tried anything else...yet.

Also just so you know, ATI is releasing new drivers every month, so having a
new version right after another version isn't as surprising as it might
sound.

I have had no problem with Nascar 2003 and the Catalyst 3.5 drivers
when using my Radeon 9700.  I did have problems with F1 2002 though.
I will upgrade to the 3.6 drivers to see if it helps F1 2002 visual
quality.
