My news server doesn't agree with ras. They worked on it a few days ago and
I couldn't get back on for 3 days. Other news groups took 1 day. Sometimes
my replies don't show up for 3 days or more, sometimes they show up right
away. At this moment, I can only get 14 messages, despite downloading the
'next 300 headers'.

Can anyone recommend a good, free news server?

Cant you just read and post thru www.deja.com?

Not use a newsgroupserver at all. Use the deja server instead

PS. Thanks for the core.ini FF settings

I don't know if it's accessible from the US (I don't see why not), but a
lot of people in the UK use a German server, which you can find at:

http://news.cis.dfn.de

This server is completely free, but you do have to register on their
website, using a genuine e-mail address. It "only" carries (IIRC) 18,000
groups, including a lot of national hierachies, but all the useful
motorsport ones are there (including rec.autos.simulators, naturally),
except that it carries no binaries groups.

Try www.jammed.com. You can search for a server there. I used it when I
was having problems with my ISP.

Good luck,

Glenn
