>Well at long last, lots of research, and questions answered by the good folks
>of this NG I finally made up my mind.
>I just hung up the phone with Dell after ordering a:
>Pentium II 266

>I'm not bragging by no means-- I've been racing N1 while you guys been tearing
>up the track on N2.  The ol' 486 just couldn't handle it with more than 15 cars
>no graphics.

I'm crying as I read this on my 486.

Uh, Mr, Faust, sir: Do you have a daughter?

Seriously, enjoy! I hope to take a step up.
Aloha, Henry

Unless you enjoy spending $150 for a couple months use, you'd be much
better off waiting for the Voodoo2 due out in Q1 98.

What makes you think Voodoo 2 cards have usable drivers right away?
How long do you think it will take before we will see games that
support Voodoo 2 directly? Will Voodoo 2 cost $150 or twice that?

If I personally didn't already have a 3D card, I would buy a Pure3D
3Dfx board with 4MB texture RAM right away. It has stable drivers and
great support, and works with every 3Dfx game out there. We don't know
if that is the case with Voodoo2, or whether it will have similar
compatibility problems as 3Dfx Rush had.

What I'm saying is that 3Dfx Voodoo cards are a safe buy and don't cost
that much, while Voodoo 2, that still remains to be seen.

: Unless you enjoy spending $150 for a couple months use, you'd be much

But the voodoo2 will not fall into the $150 price range when it comes out.
At the end, you may need to wait for a year or so.
Unless you enjoy spending for the leading edge technology.(And also
leading price)
