Talladega Tire Wear

Hello, in the game Nascar Racing 1, I cannot keep the right rear tire from
wearing down to the yellow line after only 25 laps.  I've tried several
different setups with no success.  Does anyone have a setup that will help the
right rear tire last longer?  Thanks.

you might be braking too hard entering the corner and loosing left rear tracktion
causing the right rear to do all the work. bvut most likely, you are mashing the
gas to the firewall to fast coming out of the corners and loosing tracktion with
LR and the RR is doing all the work.  cant help you with setups cause im a N2
Racer.
are you loose going into the corners or out of them alot?

opps. i didnt see that you were asking about talladega. i guess your not
braking too hard INTO the corners  :)  hope your not braking at all
hehe
the only thing i can think of is that your sliding the back out.
i know you have n1 but the shocks must be kind of the same.
try raising RF tire pressure; stiffen RF shock; lower LR tire pressure,
but i dont thin kyou want to do this for telly cause it will slow you
down a bit; or try lowering the LR shocks. that is what i would try.
last to first.

Nope, I'm not braking at all, I'm not sure, but I don't think I'm loose, my car
isn't squealing the tires at all.  That's what I can't understand, since I'm
not squealing the tires, I should have a good setup, right?

You say you're using Nascar 2, let me ask you, how many laps can you go before
having to change your tires?  I know you can go about 50 laps before having to
refuel, but how long can you go with the same tires?

Thanks.

50 laps??? Are you running a 3 cylinder Chevrolet Metro engine?

i cant remember off the top of my head, but my tires outlasted my gas by
far
and i dont think i went 50 laps on one tank i dont think.

if your tire4s arent sliddin then one shouldnt be wearing out way faster
than the rest. unless maybe your weight is way off.   are all your tire
pressures maxed?

All the tires are at 60 psi.  That's the only way to get the fastest speed.
It's mainly my two rear tires that are wearing out too soon.  I have 1900
pounds on the front, and 1600 pounds on the rear, and no crossweight.  And I
can go 50 laps on one tank of fuel, in an 8 cylinder ford engine mainly because
I'm not letting off of the accelerator.  I have noticed that if I reduce the
shock strength on the back wheels, that will reduce the temperatures for the
rear tires.  But that still doesn't stop them from getting yellow around 25
laps.  Any more hints?  Thanks.

sorry. i seem to remeber both my right tires waering out just a little
more than the left by the time i have to pit. i dont think my tires ever
got yellow before i run out of gas.
good luck, maybe some one who races N1 can help  :)  i have it to but
only play 2

Yes, because the Winston Cup boys setup the car appropriately. If they
wanted to, they could certainly derive a setup (or driving style) that
wouldn't last 40 laps.

Part of adjusting the car for a good setup is getting a fast setup
that the tires last on, rather than a sprint setup that burns up the
tires.

If you want to experiment with the "TIRES" line of taladega.txt,
you can make the tires last longer.

example:
TIRES 65534 4500 80000000 65534 4500 80000000 0

The long numbers above are the wear ratings of the tires.
Changing the 8s to 9s should make the tires last a few laps
longer.  The info worked in N1, so it may  work here.

wouldnt this be "cheating"????

Jim,  does this mean that you / we can setup N2 to get 55 laps before
pitting?  That's 11 more than I can go on gas right now.

i dont think it is possible in the game to get that many laps because
there just not enough gas.
