Reliability in F1GP2....

by Chris Meliki » Fri, 28 Jul 1995 04:00:00

Hi,

My hope for F1GP2 is that if F1GP2 does include a random
breakdown or loss of power etc that it is very definitely
switchable in the same way as invincibility.  There's nothing
more frustrating than this in the real world let alone on a PC
where you should be able to control everything.

This might be taking this a bit too far, but it might add a sense of a
'second game', like the research in X-Com....

1) Your team starts out with a base budget, and with successive finishes,
can invest (exclusively) in reliability. No research (this would probably
require a re-write of the engine) but simple reliability. Might add too
much for the initial release (WE WANT IT NOW!!!) but nontheless, this might
have some value in an external editor or something......
