OT: Why Ruebens has bad luck.

  Beleive it or not, this doesn't have *** theories included;

Lately it seems Ruebens can't buy a break.  Troubles before the start of
several races.  Why is this happening?   Our Speedchannel announcers have
lamented the terrible luck that Ruebens has, but I think it's not bad luck,
but bad team policy.

We all know the Ferrari team is focused on Michael Schumacher, I
understand that and have no real problem with the concept.  But how far does
this focus go?   My gut instinct says the team doesn't budget as much TIME
for preparing Ruebens car mechanically as they do MS's.  I think what we
have seen this year is the result of mechanics and engineers either hurrying
through checklists for Ruebens car so they can more properly attend to MS's
or...they spend so much time detailing the tiniest minute items for MS that
they have to blitz through all their race preps for Ruebens.
I feel this may extend to time even at the factory where the cars are
built.  Surely MS and Ruebens share car parts from the same parts bins, but
the TIME needed to properly insure all is 100% just doesn't seem to be
afforded to the guys working on Ruebens car.

Didn't RB make a statement earlier this year similar to 'Michael has 500
people preparing his car -- I have 1'???

Ferrari has decided after Magny Cours that Rubens will from Hockenheim on
have exclusive use of the T-Car for the remainder of the season (i.e. 2
cars). That looks like a pretty clear committment to support Rubens as best
they can.

I also think that each driver has his own team of mechanics, i.e. Michael
may get better support, but it's not like Rubens would have to wait for the
mechanics to finish Michael's car before they can start working on Ruben's
car. I am sure there are two fairly separate teams of mechanics.

Is it perhaps time for a *** theory? :-)

Or maybe we have a 1st class team for MS and a 2nd class for Rubens? MS has
probably the best ones, while Rubens takes the rest.

I don't really think Ferrari would hire 2nd rate staff for anything.

So, you're saying that the monitors in the pits are connected to a
Switch-Box, and the B-Side don't see much time, huh :)

>Could well be. I liked what Martin Brundle said during the race...

>"If I got onto a plane and saw Rubens, I'd get off pretty quick!" :-D

Ouch...
