Sega Rally: How to get the Lancia Stratos?

Hi,

        I know that Sega Rally for PC has a hidden car, the Lancia
Stratos. I even saw the logo representing the car in one of the picture
files on the CD-ROM. Now, how do I get the car?

        I think I am pretty fast on arcade mode. My best time is 3m 22s
something. Anyone care to share driving times, tips, etc?

There is a cheat that makes getting it very easy.
On the Mode Select screen, push XYZYX

I forget what you need to do to get the car as a legitimate reward...
Win the game on the hard setting, maybe? Can't remember.
