Comment - as Larry Niven would say, every world should have one
mountain too high to climb. Now you've gone an' climbed it..

I think I started by getting lost when I spun and going the wrong way
for a while !! Also tried going backwards to begin with so as to come
over the start finish in the hopes of getting the out lap counted, but
it didn't work.
Eventually by driving around slowly last thing every night, my time
came down to 9:33 after a week. Trouble is, I can't match that again!

DUDE!!! SWEET!!!
Time to get back on that horse once I can break (or is that brake) 2:00 at
Rouen. Last time I ran the Ring was online after not playing GPL for months
(gotta go where the race is :-)). It is an amazingly great track and sooooo
much fun--but soooo soooo difficult.

Congrats.  I won't annoy you with my PB<g>, but stick with it.  I HATED the
Ring at first, but I quite like it now.  Its still not much of a "race
track", but it is an interesting challenge.  One piece of advice... learn
where "not" to push.

Those new to the ring really should give FG and FD cars a try.  The #1
problem people have here is braking too late or applying too much throttle
on exits, with frustrating spins and crashes as the result.  Remove the huge
motors and suddenly you have a car with which you can concentrate on the
most important thing, the line, without simultaneously having to worry about
controlling the power.  If you are doing 11min laps in F1 now, you can beat
that the first time out in FG.

You can get GEM at http://website.lineone.net/~richardn/#Intro
This is a slightly older version, the newest one is at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/vroc-f2
tho you'll need to join to get it.
FG setups are at

and FD setups at
