That's not strictly true; you can hex edit the f1prefs.dat file to
get frame rates above 25fps (I think the variable is in units of 1/300
sec, if I remember correctly).   Mail me if you would like me to check
which byte it is (or copy f1prefs.dat, change the frame rate and
compare the files, it's easy enough).  Rates above 25fps don't display
correctly on the options screen, but they do work.
