No, IndyCar Racing II does not support play over a network. Sorry.

Can that be done with the patch, or would it have to be a total re-design?
I'm just curious to how difficult the programming aspect of it would be.

I am NOT paranoid.  And why are you always watching me?!?

The main problem is finding 32-bit protected mode IPX drivers for DOS. We
have one that we wrote in house, but there are known problems with certain
network cards and frankly, we don't want to be in the network card
qualification business.

Ok, so does that mean net-racing will NEVER be supported by ICR II?  I wasn't
sure if that what yu were saying...

Oh well.  I'm sure as HELL not gonna waste money/time on Win95, so I'll have
to do without... :(

Rick,

I'm just curious (well, rabidly wanting IPX Indycar 2!), but don't DOOM,
DOOM2, Quake, Duke Nukem and Command and Conquer all run in 32bit DOS4GW
mode? If so, couldn't a deal be cut with them for the network drivers?

I've used a variety of network cards with those games from an old WD8003
up to the PCI SMC card I have now - all have worked flawlessly (with
only an initial few hours head scratching and screaming - that's pretty
normal with any linked stuff!).

Please don't call time on IPX Indycar 2, it really would make a
fantastic game so much better. Incidentally, have Papyrus heard anything
from British Telecom about including Indycar 2 or NASCAR on the new
"Wireplay" service which BT are setting up? It sounds similar to the
Papyrus network except supporting lots of different games (DOOM etc) and
is UK based. So far no racing games which is pretty poor.....

Cheers!
John
