Sorry if this is old news to most, I had  not noticed you could
actually do tournaments with the GT1... There is one unrestricted one,
the european rally. Way cool, although not all tracks are suited to the
beast ! ;-) A fun way to lower your best times and deplete your bank
account (major crash = $100000 of repair)..ehh, estimate, or course, I
would never wreck it... right, yeah....

...and you can use the 935 "Moby***" in some tournaments restricted to
golden era models. It seemed hilarious to use that car in the Alps
snow-covered stage, but it seemed to work OK. I'm not quite sure how those
racing slicks got up to working temperature <grin> .

I put the rain tires on, anyway it seemed like cheating almost to use the
935 and the GT1 in the tourneys

Yes, indeed I *love* the feel of the Moby!

I've used it online a lot to beat people in those '00 911 Turbos, I
even won an online race in the alps track with the Moby against those
modern wussy 911's :-), you just have to be careful in a couple of
slippery spots on this track, drive through the snowy city streets in
2nd gear making sure that the Moby's tail doesn't come around on you,
and then use that awesome Moby power in the rest of the track.

I love the way that the back end swings around, really suits my driving
style, I've actually gotten laughed at by other online racers when I
take the Moby against a bunch of modern 911 Turbos, but I can usually
finish in the top 3 if I don't lose control of the rear end somewhere
along the way ;-)

All those modern 911's feel like school buses with understeer once you
get used to the Moby's manner.

Having a blast with NFS-PU, it's a Porsche fan's dream.

Incidentally, Moby is the only bonus car I did not get because I tried
to quit and save my player prefs just before that race (in case I
failed it, so I could try again). That didn't work, when I restarted
the game, I was past the race already and didn't even get to try !!!!

Now I  seem to be locked in 2000 and cannot buy moby***, cannot find
a used one, nothing. Is the only way to restart evolution from
scratch ?   PLease say it ain't so, I've already had to do that twice
due to a corrupted player...

Look for the Moby for sale in the new car section, it showed up there
for me, but it isn't cheap $750K if I remember right.

If all else fails, you can pretty much drive any car you want in online
racing, so you might want to give it a try there.

I also experienced a corruption of my player file, although it happened
when the 911's had just been introduced so it wasn't a complete loss, I
started over, but made frequent backups of my savegame dir from then on
in case it happens again.

Hope EA gets that bug fixed on an otherwise excellent game.

It's not there, like I said I am locked in 2000 and only recent cars
are for sale, or cars I sold myself in the used cars section. Maybe it
shows up for you because you won it...dunno... Oh well, I suppose
sooner of later I'll redo evolution mode just for fun. Money is not the
issue, I got a couple mils from winning 3 european rallyes (very well
paid, that one) ;-)

I wish they'd fix the speedo also, it'd make the game near perfect. I
wouldn't mind an expansion pack either ;-)
