DTR Lockups

I just bought DTR at Wal-Mart and im having alot of fun with it...except for
one problem.  I can only run one race at a time then when I go to load a second
race of a season the computer locks up and i have to hard reeboot.  No
ctrl+alt+del restart, no ctrl+esc...nothing.  It totally freezes.  Has anyone
else experianced this and is there a fix for it?  Im running a P2 300mhz, 96MB
RAM, VooDoo3 2000 PCI, and Win95 with DX 7 installed (from DTR installation).
Any suggestions?

You may have to get the latest drivers for your Voodoo card to fix it.
If that fails try re-installing your drivers again. What sound card are you
using?

I just got the latest drivers for my hardware and it worked fine.  Nw its doing
the same thing again except now I occasionally get the famous "blue screen of
death".  Any further suggestions?

Im using an incredibally outdated Crystal CS4610.  I know its not
technologically stunning but it serves its purpose.  If you know where I can
get new drivers for it I will be amazed and very thankful.

I'm just wondering if this is a derivation of the Yamaha card?
If i'm not mistaken I think it could be. There are problems with
the Yamaha based cards. But after playing with the new patch
you may not have to worry about it much longer! :-)

If I remember this is in fact a Yamaha spawn of sorts.  I think its kinda like
the old Ambra computers which were really IBM PS2s with a kick in the rear
performance wise.  But if this is addressed in the patch as you say it should
be then i guess problem solved with the patch :)  Thanx for the help.

I have close to the same problem: sometimes I've been able to run a
whole season, sometimes just 1 race, but inevitably it freezes up.  I have a
C300A/450, Voodoo3 3000 (standard clock speed), Montego Quadzilla A3D.  I've
downloaded the LATEST sound and video drivers.  I even tried DirectX video
rasterizer and it still locks up.  I still think it's either video or sound
related.  Maybe I'll put my old sound in, or try a different video card....
I still have my Matrox/Pure3D setup around...  I've GOT to get this running.
I also get lockups in N3 (same freeze), and the Driver demo won't exit.

Chris, I'm sure the patch will fix you up. There may be
an adjustment in your setting, control panel for your sound card
if its the same as the Yamaha. You can change 1 setting and the
problem goes away. It also happened in Powerslide from Ratbag
as well. Maybe, someone one with a Yamaha card can enlighten
us I can't remember the exact details.

Don, the patch should be out shortly and it should address
your problems.

Pete, I tellyawhut, if that patch will give me replays and fix the
sound, I'll be a pretty happy camper.
