Felt this was interesting and I agree with this guy

Do you think this can in any way effect the sim racing community due to
the very restrictive and high priced licensing issues

Its hard to take it seriously when he says the sport is very safe. Ralf
Schumacher, Jarno Trulli and Felipe Massa could have all died within the
last few races because of accidents...they were all very lucky. He also
doesn't keep his connections tied together. Carnegie did a lot of stuff to
help people later on in life, but his company did not. The F1 teams are
helping people out in charitable schemes as well.

Later on, instead of saying this, he says that they should be having
scholarship's to help young drivers. This is already happening. Look at the
Red Bull driver search, look at many other companies helping people out. F1
teams also sign drivers at a young age to bring them up.

He then goes off on a couple of other tangents without really covering
anything.

This is true, however, when compared to other series, it seems F1 is
pretty safe IMHO . There hasnt been a death since Senna. Now I realize
that some of the other series have more races in a season and more cars
on the grid but if we take a look at Nascar and CART, there have
definately been issues in the recent past and we have lost many great
drivers. The IRL in my opinion is tragedy waiting to happen and I trust
it will in the next 2 years. I just think it is absolutely stupid to be
running packs of open wheel cars at 200 + mph on ovals. MS even said in
an interview he would never race like that cause it is just far to
dangerous.
I think the tracks are much safer in F1 especially the new ones. I think
the cars will always be evolving with safety as a big factor, and quite
honestly, I think the drivers are more disciplined by the time they get
to F1 than they used to be.
Of course this is still racing and the danger will always exist but put
me in an F1 car anyday.....please:)
