GTR : Market Reality ?

From Ian Bell: "Thanks for the kudos We at SimBin are indeed committed to
producing the most realistic simulation on the market and all the feedback
we have received on our upcoming GTR game would indicate that we have
already achieved that.
We are in touch with the market reality though and have therefore included a
completely distinct Arcade Mode which is selectable from the first screen.
This has its own separate physics and provides everything that the arcade
junky could dream of. Crucially though, two distinct modes (Arcade and
Simulation) enables us to provide a fast and fun sideways blast in the
Arcade Mode without compromising the precision and depth of our Simulation
Mode.

Regarding the lack of a mention of a publisher on our website... we have
substantial offers on the table from major publishers who absolutely adore
our demo, so evidently there remains a strong market interest in a 'no
compromise' simulation on PC and XBox We are committed to giving this to the
community."

"Arcade Mode"?!?
"XBox"?!?
"Market Reality"?!?

Jeez, them's fightin' words around these here parts.

Hey if a full blown Arcade mode and Xbox ports get GTR into our hands
then so be it.  Heck, Papy's sims have often had some sort of arcade
mode.  I would wonder about online compatibility tho..I'd hate to have
some slug like me being able to blitz the legends just cuz I've clicked
another set of menu items.  I would hope they are smart enough not to
allow arcade to log onto the same servers as the sim crowd.

Now what could be worrisome is the DEAL they craft with a publisher.
I can easily see a roomfull of suits paying bucks for the sim then
demanding they remove the***pit and only use the NINTENDO view.  Or I
can see them needing server support money from the publisher who
shortchanges that aspect.   In my mind, it's not Simbin we need to worry
about but who they climb into bed with.

Hopefully, Simbin are smart enough to realise that although partnering up
with a publisher like that would bring in some quick cash, it'd be likely to
hurt them in the long term.  Ian Bell's got a lot of common sense - I've got
faith in him and his team.

I bet they beat the West Brothers to market.

Before the West Brothers - LoL, now that's fighting talk!

Also notice the bit about the demo, they won't release it though I've asked.

Andi.

My two Golden Retrievers have just started their own simulation project.
THEY will beat the Wests to market :)
