I have finally found out why a cannot play GPL over VROC. It is because i am
behind a proxy server and the game doesnt allow that. DAMMIT. i hope there
will be a patch to fix it very soon because i cant wait to go out and do
some racing. Otherwise i will have to wait 5 months because then i get a
CABLE connection OHH YEAH!!!

I doubt that a patch can fix the problem.

A proxy server is a device, usually a server with two network cards, that
intercepts all packets bound for the internet and redirects them through the
single network card that's connected to the Internet. They are primarily
designed for security to block any incoming requests that were not
originated from an internal machine. When you put GPL in this environment,
the performance hit exacted by the proxy server (remember, it's checking
every inbound and outbound packet) kills the kind of network performance
demanded by GPL.

Sorry, but there won't be a patch to fix this issue....

Also, a proxy server usually only allows specific types of connections,
identified by the socket ID (such as HTTP or FTP protocols). GPL undoubtedly
uses its own connection protocol and that's why the GPL connection attempt
is blocked.
