*Urgent* help wanted please!

Hi,
I have a Guillemot/Thrustmaster Ferrari FF Steering wheel. Everything has
been great until today, when the throttle spring snapped :(
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! To much heavy use for GPL Rank I guess (Grin) ;) Anyway,
is it possible, or has anyone with the exact same wheel, managed to do a
"home" repair? Is it possible with these pedals to replace the "original"
spring, with something that will last much longer? I am not an engineer or
mechanic, but I am usually pretty handy with such things, so if you can
suggest anything, I would be VERY grateful. Of course, this doesn't stop me
playing GPL, (Phew!), as this wheel has it's "extra" steering colum paddles
for throttle and braking, plus the shifter paddles. But obviously, I much
prefer the foot pedals myself. I have had a quick look inside, but wanted
your thoughts/suggestions/help first please. Thank you :)

I've broken a few springs over the years in my ECCI pedals. I sure I
could have gotten replacments from the ECCI but I found a great
source in numerous local hardware stores. They usually have a section
for small specialty parts with lots of different spring choices. I
now have a selection of different springs to alter pedal pressure.
Bring your old one with you for comparison.

No, they're called 'my brake balls'.  :)

A bit more info.  I have rigged up with some wood a contraption that is
fixed to the pedals and sits up against a back wall so no sliding
around, and it holds the tennis balls up against each of the pedals
allowing for plenty of resistance.  It works like the dog's b*ll*cks,
though bigger.  :)

PS: I haven't got a dog, and if I had I wouldn't have tried using its
gonads for this.  :)
