RASCAR: Practice Server Available

RASCAR: Practice Server Available

For those not aware, I run a RASCAR practice server right up until
race time on Saturday.  I can only think of one person besides myself
that has made use of it (dan o'brien), so the only thing I can think
of is that y'all simply don't know it's available.

The track that it runs is the next one on our schedule, and for
tracks like Darlington, it can be quite a valuable tool to see how
the fast setup handles online (if you weren't aware, there is a
difference in online/offline handling).

It's called "RASCAR Practice", and it allows 20 drivers to connect at
one time.  I can also scheulde it to run an impromptu officially
unofficial practice race on a given nite if anyone thinks it's
necessary/useful.

I try to use it, but many times my ping is to high. I made it on only
twice.
And, no you don't need to raise the ping level. It's just my
connection.

Thanks John.  I'll continue to try anyway.
Maybe we can schedule something during the week on it?

I check almost nightly but Ive never seen anyone on.  Im out west so you
guys may be asleep by the time I make it :)

One thing I would ask John is to set it up as an "Open" server instead of
dedicated.  The few times Ive been on with someone practice ends and
everyone bails.  Or make the boss pw a little more accessible.

No, sometimes, sierra refuses conncetions, and since I don't sit
there 24/7 making sure it's okay, it might go for a while stuck at an
error dialog box in the sim.  It's generally up and available 24/7.

I too used it a couple of nights (late) this week and a bit before the race
this morning.
