DIGITAL EDGE SPONSORS ROUTE 66 RACING DIRECTOR

Indianapolis, Indiana Monday, September 21, 1998 Zye Technology, Inc. an award-winning manufacturer of the Digital Edge precision engineered input devices and game controllers |for PC-based entertainment announced their initial sponsorship agreement with John Parker, Director of Operations at Route 66 Racing.

This sponsorship will assist Digital Edge's sim racing products, which are designed in the U.K. and hand-manufactured in their Malta factory, in receiving the exposure and loyal following in the US that they have already experienced in Europe. "I'm extremely e***d, not only about receiving sponsorship from Digital Edge but also what Digital Edge has to offer the Sim Racing community", states Parker. "This wheel is the real deal - it's not plastic, it's not a toy, and yet it's the best value for those that are serious about their racing sims".

Parker, who has been racing computer sims since their infancy, is currently racing Nascar 2 (Papyrus/Sierra) on the Total Entertainment Network. TEN allows up to 22 "***-racers" to compete in "real time" over the internet. "I've seen a myriad of changes in the sim racing world, and only recently has the *** hardware industry realized the GREAT potential in sponsoring leagues, teams and individual racers. I feel very fortunate to have been selected by Digital Edge to market and represent their "professional" racing equipment. Digital Edge is committed to being the number one sim racing wheel in both quality and value and I hope my experience in sim racing will add to their already vast knowledge of wheel design and engineering", says Parker.

The Indy/F1 SIM wheel and pedal combination is an amazing advancement in the evolution of *** hardware. Hand-crafted with precision metal components, this plug-and-play wheel has all the "bells and whistles" of higher priced wheels but at a fraction of the cost. Featuring a very sturdy wheel unit with "self-centering steering" and torque action, this wheel is a must for the sim racer that is looking for performance, style, quality and durability in a single package. The standard wheel unit consists of F1-style paddle shifters (behind the steering wheel), triple color LED gear change indicators as well as a quick attach/release system that can go from "on-to-off" (and vice-versa) in 3.24 seconds!

Also included with the wheel unit is the Indy/F1 style foot pedals that are constructed exclusively of steel. These pedals allow for graduated acceleration and braking, and consist of HEAVY DUTY springs that will give the serious racer peace of mind in knowing their equipment can survive even the toughest of accelerating and braking conditions.

Said Trent Decatur, Director of Sales and Marketing for Digital Edge and Zye Technology, "We believe at Digital Edge that aligning ourself with Mr. Parker will afford us tremendous market penetration in the US, and especially the online "world" of SIM Racing. John has proven himself to not only be a great racer, but a positive contributor to the SIM Racing "world" through his comments, ideas and recommendations. We recognize that John is a man of character and integrity and for him to endorse our Sim Racing equipment speaks volumes about the quality of our products. We're delighted to have him "on-board" and are looking forward to meeting and helping other Sim racers reach their potential with our products. This is truly a WIN-WIN-WIN situation for Digital Edge, Mr. Parker and the entire Sim Racing Community".

Hmmmm, well..... I purchased a Digital Edge F1 sim wheel and pedals
after reading reviews of the proto-type (GP-500) here in the UK, I was
most un-impressed!  The unit could be described as good value for money,
but I thought the engineering was not as good as the advertising hype!
Very poor construction, wishy washy, indistinctive wheel centering, Lots
of sideways play in the steering bush (no roller bearings used here as
far as I could tell!), a plastic nut (aghhh) holding the wheel on,
pedals had a lot of travel, esp the brake.  I know the TSW and other
full metal jobbies are more money, but if you are gonna shout
quality..... it had better be!  I returned my F1 Sim after a couple of
days and got a refund.  I then built my own from instructions at Wally
World..... now a happy bunney ;-)
