Try to start up *clean*, ie only load the things that your
soundcard needs. And load the CD driver if you've the CD version.
Nothing else is needed!
Memory managers is no good, they may work on one machine but
can play total havoc on another.

General tip:
Every game that is programmed in protected mode will be tough
on other things in memory. So load as little as possible into memory.
If you see the DOS4/GW banner when you start the game the game uses
protected mode. DOS4/GW is being used by most of the game makers nowadays.
DOS4/GW is a Dos extender for Watcom C++. The most efficient C++
compiler in the world! :)

Good luck!

ICR: No menues! HELP!!!!

Hello All!

I recently bought a CD-Rom containing ICR.
When I start the program (either direct from CD-Rom or an installed version
from
harddisk) everything is fine until the main programm (after the copyprotection-
question) starts. Then I have the main-menue on the monitor, but none of the
choices is highlighted, and I can't change my selection by moving the cursor
around. The program didn't hang up, because if I enter return, I choose a
randomly(?) selection. This way I managed to get to Preaseason Testing on
several occasions, but this is of course very annoying!
I'm using a 486DX-33 with MS-DOS 6.2 and Quemm (I already tried without, no
changes). The funny thing is, I tried it on a friends PC, a 386DX-33 with
MS-DOS5.0 and Quemm and everything worked fine!
I already booted my PC on DOS 5.0 but it didn't help.
I looked at the Papyrus ftp-site for information, but the patches there only
seem to deal with other bugs.

So, has anyone else expierenced this problem and/or can point me in the right
direction?

Many thanx

This happened to me when the joystick was not right.

Had the same problem on my 486DX2 66 VLB with internal (on the MB) game
controller. It seems there is problem with some game controller not being
fully compatible (the one found on some IO board &/or MB), there's a thread
on this on Papyrus BBS.

So, I disabled my on-board game controller & enabled the one on the SB16.
This fixed the problem.

Hope this help...

Danny

P.S. Wolfram, I tryed to reply by mail, but it bounced back.

I also had this trouble recently.  my shifter on the T1 Thrustmaster was sticking.  I was going crazy trying to figure this out.
