Hi all,
If any of the  LeGeNDs league drivers get to see this, this is just to
tell you what has happened to me in the last few weeks. (If you do can
you pass this message on to the rest of the League).
I had a total computer failure when I used an update dat from Mcafee.
The monitor went grey and chugged away for 5 minutes. I didn't have a
clue what it had done. When I tried to reboot it came up with "
Invaild system disk". (Could it have been a virus in the update dat
??). I asked a friend about it, and he said that I should reload
Windows as it just needs a few start-up files. I did this not
realising that it would overwrite everything. (I am no expert as you
have gathered)!
I had to send it off to make sure that everything was re-loaded
correctly. A week or so later it came back and I started to put in all
my programmes etc. I loaded in my Logitech Wheel profiler, but after I
did this the computer wouldn't start up properly. I re-took it back to
the shop and said that there is another problem, which took another
week or so to sort out. (I think I was using the wrong profiler which
was causing the start up problems). I got my computer back last week,
and re put a lot of things back in including an updated Profiler,
which needed a Microsoft installer which I didn't use the first time.
All is ok at the moment, and I have GPL and VROC up and running.
What I want to know, if you can advise me how I get our Yahoo Groups
messages to come through my Outlook Express. I did have it before, but
I didn't configure it myself, and so I need some help in getting it up
and running.
Just so you know, I do want to come back to racing in our League as
soon as possible J. ( I also lost all of my set-ups as well )
Bye for now.
Ben.
