icr2 - Pole postition not in charge

Howdy,

I was racing at Louden, pace lap on, yellows on, I had the pole, as we
came around for the start the pace car pulls off. I was going slow
and about 4 cars in the outside lane come screaming past me. We got the
green flag even tho I was on the pole and I was lagging way behind.
The yellow should have come out to go around one more lap. Is this a
bug or is it configurable? If configurable, how to change it?

I am using the latest patch.

It is not configurable, and I suspect in Papyrus' view, it's not a bug
either. Yes, in most forms of racing, the pole sitter controls the field
until the green flag drops. Unfortunately, in both the ICR2 and NASCAR
simulations, this is not the case. I've been successful by keeping my car
right in the middle of the track and forcing the outside pole sitter to
stay behind me until I take off.

That's what I have to do as well. The only cars that you control are the
ones directly behind you in your row. If you're pole sitter, then you
control position 3,5,7,9 etc.. Positions 2,4,6 and so on only go the speed
pos #2 is going, so if you allow the second place guy to ease by you, then
you slow down, the whole row flies by you. I even go as far as to place
myself directly in front of the second place guy, then you hold the "even"
row, and the "odd" row stays behind you naturally.
