Nascar 2 finally works

by David Powel » Mon, 04 Jan 1999 04:00:00

After reading numerous posts, I finally figured out how to get my Nascar
2 working.  Plus I can use my new FF steering wheel with it(Microsoft).  I
have to thank somebody, so I thank all the contributors to this newsgroup.
Thank You.  After all it was my favorite racing game. My second was NFS SE.
I can't get the sound to work on that one, but I have NFS3 now.  Not worried
about that game anymore.  Well, time to get back to racing.

Ok, we can't let you off that easy :)

What exactly (precisely) did you do to get your MSFFW working?  The
MSFFW is a digital device, and most DOS games (including N2) don't
support Digital Controllers.

Thanks!

It's not DOS that causes the problem. It's the tweaking Pappy did when
they wrote the controller functions to accomodate quirky, imprecise
analogue controllers. Most of my DOS sims (except N2 - haven't tried ICR
lately) work fine in a DOS box with my MSFF. I don't really play N2
anymore (GPL y'know) to worry about it.

But if someone actually had a definitive answer on getting it to work...
