Has anyone seen the CDS5000 TWIN CAM Steering Wheel/Pedal combo???? It
is built by EXTREME COMPETITION CONTROLS and has the super low price tag
of $1595.00!!!! Yeah, that's right, One thousand, five hundred and
ninety five dollars (U.S.)!!!

Here are some of the wheel's features:
-- Customizable spring tension for steering resistance;
-- User-tunable fluid damped steering;
-- Adjustable steering lock;
-- Frictionless pedal design for enhanced heel to toe;
-- User tunable air compression brake system for unparalleled braking
feel and realism;
-- Cam articulated throttle pedal action;
-- Made of Aluminum and Stainless Steel;
-- Special edition 11 inch MOMO steering wheel covered in hand stitched
black suede leather;
-- Two year warranty

        I almost reached *** when I saw this thing. What a peice of art!

        has anyone out their test driven a FORCE FEEDBACK type wheel yet? I
have heard that they have been out at the Game conventions in Las Vegas.
Apparently Thrustmaster has a new Force Feedback Wheel out. If anyone
has had the pleasure of trying it out, please post and let us know how
it felt please!

Hmmm, you could get yourself a car instead !

I`m sure it`s great, but it just might feel too good. I don`t think that
even a top F1 car feels so nice to drive.

The one i once had the pleasure off sitting in (a 91 Benneton ), had a
very crude feeling. I know I know, at a stand still the wheel is VERY
heavy, and the brake pedal is not as it would be when the car is
running.

But any way my old 82 Opel feelt better.

I like my TSW, and I had the money to get it without a big loan (-:

The brake pedal probably would feel like it will when the car is
running. Formula cars generally don't have servo-assist brakes like
passenger cars, but completely passive braking systems. (Primarily for
better feel and response, but also as a reliability measure...)

Jim,

My good 'ol Thrustmaster Formula T2 is going fine as well after one year of
daily use.  It doesn't have as solid a feel I'd imagine as some of the more
expensive jobs but it has endured and is comfortable for full length races.

Julian:

You got 2 mph just with the steering wheel.  Are they using analog
or digital pots

According to what he wrote, his times may actually be slower.

He said "at MOST two mph".  This allows for less improvement, and even
slower lap times.

I think he meant at LEAST two mph, but don't read into a message that
which isn't there.
Ask for clarification.
