Rally Trophy "newb" questions

by double » Fri, 03 Jan 2003 03:59:07

After watching Alex Alex Kihurani's .avi, I decided to give Rally Trophy
another try ;-)

I've read the '3dsmax plugin news' lately, so I'm assuming there are no mods
or updated cars, etc. for RT yet.

Are there any good fansites for RT that I should know about?

How exactly does one get the KALJAKOPPA cheat to work so I can drive on
other tracks?
sorry, i'm lazy i know :-(

There are a few new cars available, but no new tracks as of yet.  To find
the new cars go to,

http://www.no-grip.com/index.html

But the site is down now.

Fansites?  Check the one above, when and if it ever works.  Also check the
JoWood site at,

http://rally.jowood.com/rally-e/index.php

There's a forum there that might point to other sites, also a link page.

Just go to the player screen, enter that string, and press enter.  Then
enter the name you plan to use.  It worked for me.

One question on the controller config for anyone who knows.  When I try to
change my controller assignments, the game hangs.  I remember before, when I
had another system, that to configure your controller (for split axis, say)
you were taken to an external program.  I no longer can get to this program.
I didn't even see it anywhere in the RT directory, as an executable.

Any ideas?

before I go & buy a new killer system, why won't it work?  - it exceeds the
min. requirements stated on the package.

Feel free to try it - it'll probably run on minimum detail unless it doesn't
support the Savage 4 at all.  Rally Trophy has quite a complex physics model
but it feels fairly wrong IMO.  Better than most rally games though.

Never trust the minimum specs quoted on a game box.  They tend to expand
the range of systems to try and grab as many purchasers as possible.  Let's
put it this way, it probably will run, but will it run well?  I don't think
so.  Your cpu is way underpowred.  There are demos for F1 2k2 and Rally
trophy, you can try those to see if your system is stout enough.  Good luck.
