Would be nice to see, but I doubt it...The main reason isn't so much
for the difficulty in creating an editor (or just hacking into the
3d-model), but instead I think it has to do with motives.  In ICR2
and N2, they're both N.American organizations, and most (if not all)
can be used for other types of racing, including Trans Am, etc.  It
seems to me the agenda for GP2 appears to be more of getting as close
as possible to Nirvana-F1, rather than simply deversifying with the
odd-ball track, carset, or whatever...

Sure, there are exceptions - just a theory.

Cheers!

Marc

I must congratulate all involved on the track editor! This is good news!

My question is, have anybody started working on other car-bodies?
The physics of GP2 are quite good, it would be nice to drive a Ferrari
333SP or an R&S..
Maybe a Touring Car?
Would it be possible?

Thanks,
Matt

I asked this same question to Steven Young, man behind the GREAT GP2Edit. He
told me that he knows WHERE the bodywork is stored in GP2. Big problem is the
format that is used...

There's also another problem: to depict the cars at greater distances and in the
mirrors, the game uses sprites. So you would have to render 100's of images to
keep all views consistent. BTW: the sprite-nature of cars in the distance
becomes very apparent when you play around with editing camera positions. The
sprites are only convincing under certain angles...

Doesn't look too good...
