I mean, is this supposed to be more convenient? We already
have a great file transfer vessel that ensures delivery,
resumes broken downloads and such. It's called FTP, maybe
someone heard of it. I really hope no other game company
uses this Gigex thingamajiggy to release their demos. It is
totaly usesless. And I didnt enjoy filling in BS info in
the form either.

Just mirror the demo on an ftp and be on your way, please.

I believe it's advantage is the ability to pick up where you left off, without
having to start all over, if you lose connection.  At least that's what it
says.  I wasn't aware of FTP's ability to do this.  As far as the form goes, all
you have to do is type no in the e-mail address box and your in business,
nothing else to fill out.  Seems pretty simple to me.

There was a time when resuming FTP transfers couldn't be done but it's
been available for some time now although there are some sites that
either don't have it enabled or are using old server software. All the
major ftp sites such as cdrom.com etc can do it.
I agree with the original poster, Gigex is a pain and can be slow.
Cdrom.com in the US is fast, even for me here in Australia, and they
have a number of mirrors worldwide.

I felt the same way, until I found out that the Gigex servers are
generally faster than 95% of the ftps on the planet. Now I love
getting Gigex downloads.
