Want to become World Champion?
Using a PC and MicroProse's Grand Prix Two you have a chance of becoming
a World Champion from the comfort of your own home. Race and win
against other like minded racers and prove that you are the driver of
the 1997 season...or the 1998 Season...or 1999 or 2000 etc. Yep, we're
here for good. Well we should be anyway.
Want to win the Constructors Championship?
Build your own team from scratch, preparing the car, signing the stars,
bringing in the sponsors money and winning races that count towards the
title. Take over a team or start your own. Choose engines, fuel and
tyre suppliers, car parts etc.
Want to prove yourself in cheap, affordable motor racing?
The DPMRA has decided that its Winter Competition is free but the season
won't be. Despite that, the cost will be little compared to competing
at a serious level...not to mention much, much safer. This is Motor
Racing that is easy to start in. Most of our drivers have started right
from the top and stayed there. Most of them drive for fame and glory.
Want to Race on the top Grand Prix Circuits of the world?
We race everywhere. You can help decide the calendar at the start of
the season. Your suggestions as to how the season could be run are
important to us. The current format is for two seasons of ten races to
be run with half the grid completing one season and the half the other
season. The standings are combined together resulting in just one title
winning driver and constructor from a potential grid of 56 drivers and
28 teams.
Your name in the papers?
The DPMRA will begin producing its own F1 and Motor Racing Magazine.
Coverage of the DPMRA's Races is expected as well as news and views from
the pit-lane of DPMRA Race Meetings. Manipulate the Media in your
favour so everyone likes you. Could be crucial to your future with a
top team.
Plus, the DPMRA will be covering other Motor Racing Events so if your
fancy yourself as a bit of a journalist...please get in touch. If you
run your own Motor Racing league we want to know about it. Get in touch
now.
How does it work?
Well, at the start of the season you are given a set of rules and the
DPMRA's Championship Race Proceedure is also provided. This emphasises
that you can must compete in certain sessions of a Grand Prix meeting
and then save those to disk. At the end of a meeting everybodies
results are collated and compiled and a winner is produced.
For example...
10 drivers compete in a race with 18 other computer simulated drivers.
Only in exceptional circumstances would we all race live via modem.
Some races may be run in Multiplayer Mode, the race being saved at
certain intervals and passed on to the next competitor.
Anyway. These 10 drivers complete their race distance and send their
final result(s) and times to DPMRA HQ. where the main race (that of the
computer simulated drivers is being performed). When that race has
finished all the results are collected together and the quickest man
wins. Simple as that. Points are awarded to whoever and practically
everyone is updated a little later on.

When replying always quote your E-Mail address correctly. If we do not
respond it means that your mail has been sent but has not reached us for
some reason, or that your E-Mail address or Postal address is incorrect.
You will also have to check whether you can E-Mail 'Grand Prix Two'
files through to the DPMRA who can decode them when they arrive.
Thanks for taking the time to read this article. Reply soon for
application form as drivers need to register for next season by Tuesday
22nd October. Just four weeks away. For team managers its the same.
As for magazine staff, journalists and other league managers the sooner
you approach us the better.
The magazine, even though it will cover the DPMRA's events, will be a
profit making venture. Or it least we hope where as the DPMRA itself is
not. The racing is kept separate from the magazine.
The DPMRA can't guanrantee that next season's championship will take
place but with your help another world championship winner will surely
be in the making.
Thanks
