This sim is really starting to grow on me.
Played it for 1 1/2 hrs straight today getting a feel for the physics and
dropping my lap times consistently. The bumps are becoming less noticeable
as I drive...and my 15yr old son, who thinks racing sims are boring,
actually commented on how realistic it looked...especially with the bumps!

One caveat though:
Judging by scale, it appears that after playing for 5 mins or so, I get what
looks like 4-5 ft skid marks on the width of track running along in front
with the speed of the car. Also, I'll get a black line streaking outward
from the drivers view to the center of the screen or off to the corner.
Anyone else having little graphic glitches or is it just my video driver?
Vid card is Radeon 8500 using the newest catalyst drivers from ATI.

The bumps are nearly great, but I'd like the option to turn them down even
lower than 0%, which appears to be nothing like the 0% I'm familiar with
:-) Or maybe they needed speeding up, making it into more of a vibration
than a wobble. With modern neck braces & some appropriate "Tyson-neck"
exercises it ought to be possible to minimise that wobble. Of course if it
was too much of a vibration that'd be *** the eyes, so it's a tricky
thing to get right. All the more need for an "off" switch really.

The biggest problem I have with the demo though is I'm getting a bit sick
of seeing an empty track ahead of me. Reminds me too much of GPL ;-)

The bumps don't seem to be posing too much of a problem for me since I
discovered that the difference lies in how fast you drive over them.
Faster bumps mean less bumping really.
The problem I'm having is with a slight graphic glitch that appears on the
track as I drive. They look like little black lines (no, not skid marks or
driving lines) that stagger across the track and in front of my car.
Maybe its my video driver?
Card is ATI Radeon 8500.
Anyone else with this card having that problem?

With an un-optimised demo like this it's hard to tell what might be
happening. Maybe they're using some advanced DX features but haven't quite
tidied up the code for cards that don't support it?

He may be getting texture tearing, which was common with ati users
who had older motherboards.  Use one of the exterior views and view your
car completely, does it look ok or more like swiss cheese? (try the PAGE
UP tailgunner view, then use the keypad keys 1-9 to rotate and zoom
in/out your view)   Have you run F1c or F12kx in the past?   If you can
get a proper display with the older programs, then GTR should, in theory,
work as well.  If you have a 64 meg or less video card, you may need to
choose a lower rez option when configuring the 3d.
If he does have texture problems, the only way I have heard to fix it
is to upgrade to a newer motherboard.  This was more of a problem with
the ATI 9500/9600 and 9700/9800 cards but who knows?

Indeed.  I've hacked my way down to average... and I'm ready to lose some
races. :)

Lines don't occur until after about 5 minutes of playing.
I get these lines even on the replays.

(try the PAGE

Definitely....that and the C mod. Both work great without artifacts.

If you can

I'll try a lower rez and see if that fixes it.

Motherboard was purchased brand new last summer:
