I have been testing some tracks in ICR2. I find that the Formula One carset
by Steve Blackwell faster on street circuts, but then again, it lacks speed
at ovals. Any opinions on this. I'd like to know what the numbers mean on
the drivers2.txt file if anyone knows.

I haven't looked at the numbers in the Blackwell F1 set, but I would
assume he has upped the "traction" numbers and backed off the "power"
numbers.  (Look in the driver.txt file for the order and range of
numbers.)  Power basically affects straight speed, traction cornering
ability, drag qualifying, and aggression the AI's determination to hold
its line.  Since F1 cars are designed for ovals, I assume Steve,
concentrated on their strength, cornering.

My driver text files for the PPG carsets are based on results from each
race during the season.  I looked at qualifying positions, fast laps and
laps led.  For ovals, I weighted the results to Power and to Traction
for road courses.  All of the numbers were thrown into a pot and allowed
to simmer.  I then distilled them and placed them into their proper
slots in the drivers2.txt file.   The overall result was a fairly
accurate simulation of the season (barring real-life shunts, breakdowns,
etc.).  However, some of the tracks need tweaks in the RELS line of
their track.txt file.  As the numbers made some tracks too easy for the
AI, while others were too hard.
