HELP!!!! ------ Plain English (not NASA jibberish!!)

by Image-inati » Sat, 16 Aug 1997 04:00:00

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me here.  I am NOT a
computer programmer and am comfident enough to admit it.  HOWEVER I
seem to be getting a bit of a hassle from the tech support prople at
Sierra whereas I have asked for instructions on how to load the update
patches, and the response I get is a FEW DAYS later, and sounds like I
need to know how to land the shuttle with MY computer just to get the
patches loaded.  I asked that I get just plain english instructions
(not everyone is astute to loading into bat files and all that other
computer wizardry, not honestly, do they really WANT to be.  But I
would think that someone would at least be obligating enough to be
able to speak the standard layman's language rather the computerese
that I get everytime I inquire!!!!  This is very frustrating to me.
First of all the patches are there to repair and make the product
better, whay can't they just give a very basic and uncomplicated set
of instructions via e-mail or even snail mail if they are so inclined
to instruct on how to load the patch updates on their products.  I
have ICR2 and NASCAR2 and would like to update them both ESPECIALLY
ICR2 since I seem to be skating on an ice skating rink on more than
half of the roadcourses --- I am a retired police officer with more
than a few hours of pursuit driving and high performance driving
training and experience under my belt ------------ and I find it hard
to believe that the product was allowed to leave in this condition.
It is NOT a realistic rendition of "real world" "feel" and these
patches should help that.  But why do you have to endure several
communications with someone who assumes that you should be able to
reprogram not only everything in your computer, but every other
SAT-COM computer in the United States Strategic Bomber and missle
strike arsenals?  WE common folk enjoy these simulations and wish to
compete in the sims just as much, but we (speaking for myself) don't
have the resources to learn all the nuances of these things.  Patches
SHOULD be simple to install ---------------WHY AREN"T THEY???????
Thank you for your time taken to read this posting --- I would
appreciate any help in this regard.
