I bought NFS SE, and *neither* the Win95 nor the DOS version to works
with my Thrustmaster T2 wheel (both installed just fine, but they
don't work).
I have a P133, SCSI disk & CD-ROM, Soundblaster16, Stealth64 VRAM w2MB
RAM, and a Thrustmaster T2 wheel & pedals.
In the DOS version installed the gas and brakes don't work right. I
can only go about twenty miles per hour. And even then, thr
car/graphics is bouncing up and down like I'm driving cross-country.
Something is seriously screwed up here. BTW, the original NFS works
fine on this same hardware.
I installed the Win95 version, and after a lot of effort finally got
Win95 to calibrate Thrustmaster as a "custom joystick". I start the
Win95 NFS, and it displays it's calibration screen. I can move through
all the gears with the steering wheel/pedals, but the goddamn thing
won't accept any joystick button presses to accept the calibration!
INnthe Win95 joystick panel, I tested the joystick and all four of the
T2 buttons work fine, NFS just can't read them.
I'm sick and tired of companies that ship buggy software that doesn't
even work. Don't they even test software before shipping it anymore?
It's not like the T2 is an uncommon piece of hardware, especially for
a driving game. It's a total disgrace, and pretty surprising since the
original NFS was such a high quality effort. I don't understand how
the same company can ship such a buggy piece of ***for the sequel.
