Hi JS,

Try msnews.microsoft.com.

Might as well get it at the source ;-)

Jens,

For anyone who is looking for a great news reader, try Free Agent
for Forte. It's great, and very easy to use. BTW its absolutely free.
You can download it at Tucows web site.

I could be mistaken but I believe he asked for a new Newsserver, not a
Newsreader.

Incidentally, if anyone has a good recommendations for a newserver I'd
also be interested, although I thought we are stuck with our ISP who
in turn provides the newserver.

I have a website that I frequent that is free, of course, for
newsgroups. The downside is that you must read each and ever message,
one by one, while online. No means of saving the NG as a whole and
reading offline.

Yes, I have Agent. That is used for accessing Newsservers not website.

Regards,

Don S.

Hi Donald Schaaf,

Try msnews.microsoft.com. It's free, and the chances that you'll miss
somebody's post should be rather slim, I'd say...

Actually you can specify any newsserver you want. I use Supernews. It costs about
$20/ month and carries all the postings to the groups and is very fast. If you
want free, good luck, all the free ones I've tried (several) are extremely slow or
worse. Go to www.supernews.com for more info.

I also tried the paid service Airnews but found it extremely slow also.

I don't know if you have access I didn't have to configure anyting but
put in the server.  Try news.centuryinter.net.  I don't pay for anything
and I just run off a isp I have on an ethernet.
