Nascar3 wheel problem

Nascar3 wheel problem

by Tanstaaf » Thu, 04 Oct 2001 07:42:19

I realize hardly anybody is running N3 these days, but I hope someone can
remember the cure for a problem I remember used to be fairly commonplace.

If I start off in the pits to practice, or for any reason go to the pits,
the wheel will get very twitchy and uncontrollable.  If I go straight to
race with no qualifying, it acts normal until I go in to pit.  Then the same
thing happens.  I have an ActLabs FF wheel, but the problem also occurs on a
Logitech Wingman wheel I tested and sometimes on an older Thrustmaster T2.

I have reinstalled N3 several times since this started.  Everything was fine
until a couple of weeks ago.  Unfortunately I installed no hardware or
software in that time frame to indicate it may be a problem.  Since then
I've formatted the hard drive, installed Win98,installed N3 with latest
patch, installed ActLabs latest software, and with only those programs on
the drive, it still does it.

Any clues will be much appreciated.

haven't a clue, I use n3 twice a week for tptcc and xrl leagues.  Are you
using the Direct X controller option or the Papyrus optimized one?
And of course...have you installed the 1.204 patch?

I've tried both Direct X and Papyrus.  My ff wheel won't work at all with
the Papyrus option.  It is patched to 1204.
