I  have home-brewed a wheel/pedals......the only way to go.  You can
obtain 'cheap' guitar/keyboard pedals from a music store, mount them on
a base board, make sure the 'pots' are 100k (change them if not).  Add
some coil springs under foot pedals to act as compression returns
(stiffer for brake). Complete wiring....BINGO. It worked for me!
