GPL Multiplayer Behind a Gateway

GPL Multiplayer Behind a Gateway

I'm running on a cable modem which is connected to a Linux box which is
configured as a gateway.  All of the machines on my LAN (four Win95
boxes) can access the internet thru this Linux gateway.

I can't seem to connect to anyone else running GPL as a server, and
nobody can connect to me when I try to be the server.  I think that if I
can identify which port GPL uses, I can pass the packets thru to the
Win95 machine that is actually running GPL.

How can I find out a) what port GPL uses, and b) if my theory holds
water?

From Randy Cassidy's reply to a similar question:
By default, a GPL server will listen for UDP connections on port 32766,
though it opens a new socket with a host-assigned port number over which
it actually communicates with the client (this may hamper what you're
trying to do).  You can change the listening port number by placing a
file named core.ini in the same directory as gpl.exe that contains these
two lines...

[ Communications ]
net_server_port = <whatever>

Or, you can define a service in the services file (c:\windows\services,
generally) as such...
