New wheel advice

Okay, so I'm thinking about breaking down and buying a new wheel and
I'm wondering if there's a ranking list or anything like that out
there to help me make a sound decision... any advice and personal
experience would be of value, too.  Right now I have a Mad Catz
Andretti wheel that's about 4 years old.  I'm sure it's to blame for
how bad I am at N2002  ;-)

And no, I don't have the $$ for a Thomas Enterprises set-up.  :-(

I'd recommend the Logitech Momo

The bang for the buck leader is the Microsoft Wheel. I have the MOMO and
while the wheel is good the pedals suck. Just the wieght of my foot puts the
the brakes on half way in NR2002, and thats with a super heavy duty spring
under the brake pedal not the whimpy one that comes with it.

I agree with the Dawg, but the MS pedals aren't QUOTE "the best on the
planet"  But IMHO they are acceptable!  You will come to love racing
barefoot though with it, as you will get a much better control and feel on
the semisoft pedals, one good thing is that the wheel doesn't use the POTS
on the wheel, it uses a device similar to the axis reader in their good
mouse, (no not the laser/led no-ball mouse)  and this makes driving a breeze
as the wheel wont spike or anything.  had mine 2 years now and even though I
tried to destroy the pedals once in a small fit of anger, they actually are
still working quite well.  FF version I haves seen at Best buy for like
$100-120 and non ff for like $80 (US).

good luck!

WOW! That looks like a GREAT wheel/pedal combination, especially if it is to
be in the price range of the old Thrustmaster Ferrari FF. Look at those
shifters.. they really listened to the complaints about the old ferrari
plastic shifters...
