Hey, please post in plain-text.

Yeah, I've seen a bit of this.  I SUSPECT that what is happening is if you
join someone elses race, it is somehow using whatever settings they used to
host and copying it into your .PLR file.

Ditto here, and I'm thinking it's probably F1RST-2 that's doing it.

F1RST2 creates a backup file in your player directory. What I
find strange is that even though I have edited genf1car.gen to
remove the driver arms from in-cockpit view, I still have arms
in f1rst-2 hosted online races!

Very weird.

Cheers,

uwe

gamespy in some way

F1rst2 is totally separate from Gamespy.  Almost every feature that
SHOULD be in Gamespy is in F1rst2.  you can lock out F1 cars from the
mods,,,can't do that in Gamespy.  you can password a race...can't do that
in Gamespy etc etc.

Again last night I noticed some changes to my PLR file after an online race.
I had recon and formation laps off, but after the online race, I checked and
saw they were re-enabled.  FWIW, the race was no-aids allowed, but didn't
change my preferred auto-clutch and low TC settings, but it did change the
race condition settings.  Clearly a bug.

"Steve Blankenship"

email F1 Dude and let him know what is happening.  This is a case where
postitive 'features' have negative results.

I just caught "dude" in chat on F1RST and told him about our problem.  He
said he is going to fix it tonight!
