THE KEY TO ORGANIZING YOUR HEALTH RECORDS

"If you care about yourself and your children, you will do everything you
can to know your family's medical history. It can save your life, and the
lives of those who are dear to you." -- Dr. Aubry Milunsky, Director,
Boston University's Center for Human Genetics (Life Magazine, March,
1995).

Your Lifetime Health Planner offers the simplest, most effective way to
take charge of your health.  Enter important facts about your health
history, keep a record of the names of medications and their effects,
document each doctor visit and diagnosis.  You will have the information
you need, and in the event of an emergency, so will your family.

Your Lifetime Health Planner, 198 pages in a compact, loose-leaf binder,
contains a variety of sections which include "Doctor Visits,"
"Medications," "Family Health History," and "Doctors and Specialists."
The Planner is a must for the busy executive who needs to stay organized,
for seniors who are receiving care and for newborns who need a record of
their health care.

Parents Magazine recommended the Planner to its readers (April, 1994) and
MCI called it "a useful resource in managing your personal health
records."  Margie Smotherman, Coordinator, Employee Health and Wellness,
Blue Shield/Blue Cross of Iowa, said: "The employees felt that these
(Planners) were great tools to not only record their pertinent numbers,
but to plan for doctor's visits."

Why doesn't everyone flood this yahoos mailbox with race

Go away!!!

Well boys and girls, the weasels are at it again!
If you're as annoyed by this garbage as I am, send
your comments to Mr. David Siegel, who is the listed
System Administrator for RTD Systems and Networking,
which is the company providing access for the individual
who posted this trash.  His E-mail address is:

Again, I believe the only way to discourage this type of
'net abuse is to complain to the user's service provider,
and to the offender.  Fill their mailboxes with your
      comments!!!

I don't enjoy playing "'net cop", but it's either that or
face wading through a mountain of commercial drivel to find
the automotive stuff I WANT to read.

Dan is correct.  And while I HATE cross-posting, I'm hoping it will serve a
greater good.  We've had two obnoxious broadcasts today.  To make it easier
for folks to send a standard rejoinder, consider copying my response text and
appending it to the offending diatribe (to make it longer).  We can't legally
stop ads, but we can influence netiquette.  This is how I do so.  Note to
access providers and obnoxious advertising scum follow:

Sir,
Could you please put an end to the broadcasting of these ads by one of your
subscribers to the usenet newsgroups in general and the xxx.xxxx.xxxxx group
in particular.  We have found that the best way to eliminate the propagation
of data and consumption of bandwidth accros the world is to address the access
providers as well as the senders.

If every idiot who has $30 a month for internet access bombarded the
thousands of news groups with this much data, the news servers would not
have enought disk space, and the telecommunication links enough bandwidth, to
accomodate any customers.

As Government support dwindles, and access increases, there is a growing
responsibility by everyone to prevent valuable resources from being consumed
by those interested only in a fast buck.  Unless we all take some thoughtful
action, the proverbial goose will be dead before anyone ever sees the golden
egg.

Knowing we can't completely ban ads, we suggest that you provide your
customers with some netiquette education:

1. Advertise only to those newsgroups to whom a service applies.  If one can't
narrow the choice to a few groups from the thousands available, the ad is too
general.  Broadcasting is not feasible and not appreciated.

2. Send a SHORT message pointing folks to a WWW address or an email id.
Let the customers come to the advertiser.  Don't deliver diatribes or
junkmail.  A rule of thumb: if one has to consider whether or not his ad is
too long, it most likely already is.

3.  Consider alternatives.  We got a posting today from a woman who should be
looking to buy a 900 number, and advertising at 3am between "Psychic Friends"
infomercials.  Kids read the newsgroups too.

Your cooperation is appreciated.

End of noisemail back to provider and offender.

Regards,
Eric Webb / Raleigh, NC

Don't bother sending more complaints about this; they are dealing
with it already. I got an automatic message from the postmaster at
rtd.com (sorry, I deleted it). There is discussion in the net-abuse.misc
group.
