What has happened to talk about this great Sim?

It appears GPL has taken over the Sim world ! ! ! ! ! I have GPL but I am
hungry for NHRA postings ! ! ! ! !

BTW, I like GPL (even with my puny P166 mmx and Monster3d) but haven't had
time to play since my brother's illness and death.

i unfortunately made the decision to remove this sim from my machine because
of lack of support from tantrum/mindmagic.  i didn't feel like letting a
piece of software flail my hard drive to pieces because of the crappy method
in which textures are loaded between rounds at the same track.

there is _no_ excuse to have to reload the exact same texture set between
every round.  probably some of the poorest coding i've ever seen thus far.

and no patch in sight from these people.

could have been an excellent game.  even without multiplayer.  but it's not
worth replacing a $300 piece of hardware to enjoy.

if you haven't bought it, avoid it.

Not a bad idea Spill. I see they've shut down
their email address too. I guess they're too
fat from all that dough to do any more actual
work. I'll remember Tantrum... yeah, remember
not to buy from them again.

Later...

I really enjoyed this game for a short while, but then realized that there's
a problem -- it's fairly easy to master (I can win most events now) so once
you've got your setups figured out there's not much new that happens!
Basically I got tired of it in a hurry. Let's face it -- in real drag racing
most of the action happens between races. With only a few setting to make,
it's just one race after another in this game and they start to seem the
same every time. Like the others, I'm now into GPL big-time and every race
is a new experience (especially when you can go online).
