Can someone tell me what are the options and the expected results from this
line in the app.ini file?  Mine is set to "2" and I have no idea what that
means.

Thanks,

Marc.

If you change it to 0..  you will get lower quality  (tho.. I can't tell the
diff)  and 2 is higher...  But if you run 0.. you will get about 5 fps
more..!!!!

I ran my 200mmx with a Voodoo 1.. at 31 fps..  and was good..  then changed the
SoundQuality to = 0..  then got 36 fps solid!!!!!

Check it out for the ppl with lower systems..  great for extra FPS...

Putting the setting lower (i.e 0 or 1) increases your framerate. I also
haven't noticed much degradation in sound but then I have a lame sound
card to start with :-)

If you have a slower machine Set this value to 0. There is a very slight
degradation of quality(almost not noticable) but there is a definate gain in
framerate of about 3-5 :-)

The 2 means stereosound
if you want better fps than set it to 0 (zero)

I can definitively state that with Pll 350, voodoo2 SLI, SBLive Value, that
altering these settings will make NO DIFFERENCE
I got identical framerates in various modes (training, back of grid with 6,
10 and 20 cars, all detail maxed or my online mode with reduced detail,
in-car and chase views) and got absolutely the same figures with the Sound
Quality set to 0, 1 or 2.
So this is only worth doing with a lower specced machine
best wisghes to all GPL racers

Yes, and maybe old ISA soundcards.

Thanks for the info Tim!! I have the Live also, so your work saves me
from having to experiment. :-)
