Nascar2000 Demo - Are You Guys Kidding Me?

It's an arcade game. I doubt it's really meant to be anything else. Most casual
NASCAR fans don't want to go to all the trouble learning proper driving like
that required for N3 or, hopefully, GPL-engined N4. You can't expect realistic
driving physics.

I also have a 450 celery and there's no popup what so ever (128MB, 173MHz V3
2000). The graphics are outstanding. I wish after Papy nails GPL-quality
physics and AI for N4 that they'd incorporate some visuals like that. Sound
sucks, though. Even with my A3D card. I can hear everything though, it just
doesn't sound much different from NRev. Must be something wrong with your
machine. And it does seem like the cars hover. While driving check your
rear-view and see if you can spot what the AI cars are riding on. Nothing!
They're floating down the track with no tires! :)

No pop-up? I set the graphics option to the max (draw ahead) and still
could see the buildings in T1 pop up as I was driving down the front
straight. One cool thing that could be used is the technology that will
be present in Team Fortress 2: mesh drawing or something. Only the level
of details is affected. Technically, stuff that is far off is drawn with
less details but it doesn't matter cause you're probably not paying as
much attention to it. If it works well, could be fun to see it in racing
sims
