Did you remember to hit the save button after you switched
manufacturers?

Changing Car Types

I bought Nascar2 about two weeks ago and I have been playing it a lot. When I first started
playing I chose a Chevy to drive and I have since wanted to try a Ford or Pontiac. I have
followed the books instructions and nothing happens. I switch the logo of the car in the drivers
info section to a ford or pontiac but every time I go back to the track I have the Chevy.

I did swap cars, for a Ford, with a car from the list but it seems that this shouldn't be the
only way to switch cars.I even reloaded my software to the full version to see if that would
help but so far no luck. I find that the Ford seems to handle much better for me then the Chevy
on the short tracks.

I was also wondering if I get this working right can you change car types during a
Championship season. I know that this isn't done in reality but for the purposes of this sim
could someone run a Ford on the small ovals, a Chevy on the super speedways, and a pontiac on
the road courses?

My last question is about speed and car setups. With ICR2 I was able to match the couse records
after only a little testing and in some cases even beating them relativily easily. With the
Nascar2 cars I am lucky to come within 10 MPH of the course records after lots of testing. I
realize that some of it might be my driving but I will get consist laps at say 115 at richmon
and the couse record is 129. I went up on the internet and got car setups from various homepages
and in all cases I have never matched their posted speeds.

I enjoy the game and find it challanging. I especailly find the short tracks tough because I am
lucky to find one place on the track where I can pass verses two or three on the super
speedways. I would apprciate any help that you can give me.

                                                  Thanks, Art

Art,

You won't physically see a change in your car's body when you change
makes.  You'll need to enter the paint shop and stick the appropriate
front end on your car to complete the transition, although handling
characteristics change immediately with a click of the logo, and then
saving your setup, which the program prompts you to do anyway.
